405x7 with probably another left in the tank. Wanted 8 but I use hook grip and my hands were just flat out in pain so I called it. - In the last week of my block before a deload so I’m carrying a bunch of accumulated fatigue. Almost sacked this set and took some lighter sets today because warm ups felt like ☠️☠️☠️ but decided to push. . 🔊WHY YOU AREN’T GAINING MUSCLE ⬇️⬇️⬇️ The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results 🔥 If you are eating the same thing and doing the same workouts and not progressing at all, what makes you think that doing it more of the same will change anything ⁉️ There are various factors involved in gaining muscle and/or loosing fat. Nutrition being critical. But today I want to focus on the exercise portion of muscle growth. 💪🏽 I see so many people in the gym ever day for years and they continually look the same. Apart from the likely issues with nutrition are the issues with their workouts! 🔑 The key to muscle growth is progressive overload. Essentially, you want to progressively demand more from your muscles to force them to adapt to a higher level of performance. There are LOTS of ways to do this. Changing sets, reps, tempos, exercises, weights, etc. The one that I want to talk about today is a SUPER SET 🏋🏽‍♂️ A super set is doing multiple exercises (either for the same muscle or different muscles) back to back with no rest. In this video I am super setting EZ bar cable curls and resistance band tricep push downs. 💯 The purpose of a super set is to use the same or various muscles in sequence without giving a chance to recover. The triceps attach down at the olecranon process (elbow) and by rotating your hand (supinating or pronating) doesn’t target any specific muscle differently. ⠀ 📍The reason for using one over the other is more so based on what you’re looking to get out of it. ⠀ 📍Overhand (Pronated Grip) ➖This is the grip that people generally use. With the pronated grip, you are able to lift more weight because the bar is not in a position where it can slip out. You’re on top of it so there’s not much limiting you. ⠀ ➖Although you can increase the weights, it’s a lot easier to compensate in this position. ⠀ ➖Common compensations that occur are… Shrugging the shoulders Flaring of the elbows Wrist in an extended position (should remain neutral) ⠀ 📍Underhand (Supinated Grip) ➖This will ultimately help straighten out your form if you compensate with the pronated grip. Flaring your elbows won’t be an issue since you would most likely become weaker in by flaring so your body will not go that route. ⠀ ➖With the supinated grip, you are limited to how much weight you can lift because if you go to heavy the bar will simply slip out of your hands. Lets talk about using your time more efficiently. I used to spend 2-3 hours in the gym everyday. At the time I thought a good workout meant putting in hours at the gym. Now a days an hour and a half is all I need. I get in the gym with a goal on my mind (finish my workout) and I leave. Not only am I not in the gym for hours at a time, but Im getting a full workout in, better than I ever did when I would waste hours of my time at the gym.

Grip strength was put to the test today 🖐 Started off 3x10 with wide grip pull ups, fillowed by 3x10 close grip pull ups with a resistance band. Next was Raw grip deadlifts,3x5 with 140kg. As mentioned in previous videos, a switch between a static lift and rolling the bar in like i did in todays session, i find rolling the bar in increases power as it engages the latts before the lift. TRICEP PUSHDOWNS by @apfau - If you enjoy my content, make sure to follow me, @workout_.collage for daily fitness content 😁. - Tricep pushdowns are one of my go to tricep isolation exercises. There are various attachments you can use including this rope. I prefer the rope when I’m doing higher reps because it really enables you to get a strong contraction in your tricep at the bottom when you spread the rope. This will also emphasize the medial head of the tricep a bit more compared with a bar attachment or if you choose not to spread the rope although any tricep pushdown will still hit both heads. When people perform Triceps Pulldowns standing straight up, they fail to work the shoulder-extending function of the long head. By using this approach, you leave a third of the muscle—the long head—out of the movement. Making matters worse, the long head is arguably most important part of the triceps. Not only does training the long head add serious size to the back of the shoulder, it also increases shoulder stability. So by omitting the long head from your Pushdown, you're missing out on size and injury-prevention benefits. To correctly train the triceps, you need to work them through a full range of motion—just as you would with any other muscle group. And the trick to getting the long head involved in the Tricep Pushdown is actually quite simple: Just tilt your torso forward at a 30- to 40-degree angle instead of standing straight up.

Yes, some people will say exercising your biceps is stupid. But some days we just long for the pump. And there's no shame in that. And do you want to know the best bit? Building bigger biceps shouldn't be difficult. It's just that you're probably doing it wrong. You see, there is more to bicep exercises than the dumbbell curl. Yes, we couldn't believe it at first, either. In fact, there are loads of bicep exercises, more than enough for everybody, and I am going to show you the most effective ones. 1. Standing Dumbbell Curl How: Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand with your arms hanging by your sides. Ensure your elbows are close to your torso and your palms facing forward. Keeping your arms stationary, exhale as you curl the weights up to shoulder level while contracting your biceps. 2. Hammer Curl How: Let a pair of dumbbells hang at arm’s length next to your sides with your palms facing your thighs. Don’t move your arms. Instead, bend your elbows and curl the dumbbells as close to your shoulders as possible. Pause at the top – remember to squeeze – before slowly lowering the weight back to the starting position. 3. Incline Dumbbell Curl How: Start by lying with your back against a bench that is set to a 45-degree incline. Bend your elbows and curl the dumbbells as close to your shoulders as you can.
