Yay! It’s back!
Before I Die is an ongoing global public art project that originated in New Orleans in 2011 by artist Candy Chang (check out her Ted Talk). It comprises a large chalkboard wall that features rows of the statement, “Before I die I would like to…” Passers-by can write their responses on the chalkboard wall with chalk. It is a gentle and enticing way to generate discussions in the community between friends and strangers, and an opportunity for individuals to reflect on their life priorities.
In 2016, Jessica Raschke worked with artists Martin Bretherick and Monica Donoso to install the Before I Die wall at The Shaggy Cow in Mittagong, before it moved to Bowral Library, and then the University of Wollongong campus in Moss Vale.
Now, the amazing @raschkejessica and @martin_bretherick have reinstalled the Before I Die Wall at Ward Lane at The Shaggy Cow! Thanks guys 🙏
Come and check it out!
