So we left the hot plains and took refuge in some of the many hill stations that is found all over India. Ooty and Coonoor belongs to the Nilgiri Mountains and is sometimes referred to as the Queen of Hill Stations. Beautifully located at 2000 plus meters above sea level, these hill stations, once developed by the british as place to escape the summer heat, enjoys moderate climate and seems perfect for production of tea. It was really nice to feel a bit of crisp and cool air. There is a UNESCO mountain railway that we took between the two stations which is pretty nice. Its narrow track gauge gives the ride some dramatic turns through the peaks and valleys.
Lately we have been living the dorm-life and quite basic. So for a couple of days, we splashed out in a nice homestay over looking some of the tea plantations...., over a cup of tea of course. Masala tea, mind you! It was great! 🙏😊🍵🍵 Kerala next! 🌴🌴🌴
